• Understand the work culture of the organisation.
• You are still new here, so don't talk about your personal or financial problems.
• Do not share anything that may be considered a weakness. Your work may be judged by it.
• Let your work speak for you. Do not ever brag about your experience, your knowledge or your skills.
• Do not be overly friendly with a disgruntled employee. You do not know the reason for the unhappiness.
• As a recent entree into the job, you should not be found to be taking sides.
• Learn about the company policies and skills from your new found friends. Do not compare them with what you did in the previous company. No company likes to be compared.

You have been brought into the company not to make friends but to have a healthy relationship with colleagues by being friendly and helpful.
