There is a lot of office politics everywhere.....in some places it is more and in some places, it is less. How does one cope with it?

• Some of us get involved in politics unwillingly, but as long as the politics does not harm anyone, it is all right.
• Make sure that your boss understands how much effort you are putting into your projects.
• In other words, you do have to market yourself every day, with the people you work and the people you work for.
• In order to market yourself, you need to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses.
• Focus on the former and try to improve on the latter.
• Make sure that you are socially friendly because it is not just skills at handling the client that is going to get you the promotion.
• You do need to be pleasant with those working along with you.

Politics is fine as long as it is not dirty!
